Almaty Hosted Representatives from 38 Countries to Exhibit at WorldFood Kazakhstan, AgroWorld Kazakhstan, KazUpack, and WaterTech CA

Today, 1 November, four ITE/Iteca exhibitions opened in Almaty

Today, 1 November, four ITE/Iteca exhibitions opened in Almaty:
WorldFood Kazakhstan
– Food Industry,
AgroWorld Kazakhstan – Agriculture,
KazUpack – Packing, Tare, Labels and Printing, and
WaterTech Central Asia – Water and Water Technologies.

The exhibitions opened in the Atakent Exhibition Centre pavilions and will end on 4 November.

Several conferences and forums will take place simultaneously with the exhibitions: AgriCA on Cattle Breeding, Poultry Farming and Veterinary Medicine (3 November, Bakshasarai Reception House), Packers’ Forum (2 November, Pavilion 9, Atakent Exhibition Centre), and В2В Vendor-to-Buyer Meeting (2 November, Holiday Inn Almaty).

The exhibitions were opened by: Saken Kalkamanov – Press Secretary, KAZAGRO National Managing Holding; Ruslan Sharipov – President, Kazakhstan Union of Poultry Farmers; Nelli Salikhanova – Deputy Chairperson, Kazakhstan Union of Poultry Farmers in Almaty; Wieslaw Osuchowski – Titular Ambassador, Consul General of Poland in Kazakhstan, Agnieszka Kukaszewska – Representative, Polish Agency for Information and Foreign Investment; Vladislav Klochkov – Advisor Consul, Consulate General of Russia in Almaty; and Vyacheslav Krasiyenko – Vice Mayor of Bishkek.

As compared with the previous year, the exhibition area has increased by 20%. The combined exhibition represents 320 direct and indirect exhibitors from 38 countries. Poland, Germany and France participate with their national stands.

Of all exhibitors, 65% were regular participants while 35% were first-timers. This year, tea and coffee distributors as well as firms represented in the Ingredients Section were especially active. In the WorldFood Tech Section, visitors will learn about new equipment for bakeries and meat industry from Europe. The number of companies in KazUpack has increased, too (a 15% growth). Apart from local companies, KazUpack exhibitors include manufacturers of labels, packing and packing equipment from 6 countries.

Notably, Kazakhstan leads in the number of companies represented – 25% of all exhibitors. The share of European companies exceeded 41%. Of all CIS countries, the Russian Federation is a leader with a 20% share. Geographical representation increased because of first-timers from Azerbaijan, Chile, Denmark, Egypt, Hungary, Iran, Kuwait, Moldova, Norway, and Serbia.

Topics of the Packers’ Forum, which will take place on 2 November in Pavilion 9 of Atakent Exhibition Centre, include: Market Niches for the Packing Industry of Kazakhstan, Innovative Solutions in the Packing Industry, Problems of the Packing Industry in Kazakhstan, Opportunities of Kazakhstan Packing Companies in Cooperation with Specialised Associations, Packing Waste Management in Kazakhstan.

The topic of AgriCA 2011 Conference is Cattle Breeding, Poultry Farming and Veterinary Medicine in Central Asia. The key speech on Development of the Cattle Meat Export Potential will be delivered by a representative of KAZAGRO National Managing Holding. AgriCA will take place on 3 November in Pushkin Room, Bakshasarai Reception House.

Participants of the 13th Closed Professional Tasting of Food and Alcoholic Beverages traditionally held during WorldFood Kazakhstan include 32 companies with 120 product brands. The jury will announce winners and The Best Products in the evening on 2 November. On the next day, the results will be posted on www.worldfood.kz.

The geography of exhibiting companies covers the following 38 countries: Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, and USA.

Official support for the exhibitions was provided by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Committee for Water Resources under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, KAZAGRO National Managing Holding, Almaty City Administration, specialised associations and diplomatic missions of the exhibiting countries.

Organisers of WorldFood Kazakhstan, AgroWorld Kazakhstan, KazUpack, WaterTech Central Asia and AgriCA Conference are Iteca Kazakhstan Exhibition Company jointly with international partners from China, Germany, Poland, Turkey, UAE, and UK. The Packers’ Forum is held by Iteca and the Kazakhstan Packers’ Association. The В2В Vendor-to-Buyer Meeting is organised by several partners: KAZNEX National Agency for Export and Investment, Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, and Iteca.
