Slovenia is subdivided into three wine-producing regions comprising 38 wine-producing areas. Bela Krajina Region is for famous for Dolc 1834 Winery, which is one of the well-known Slovenian wine manufacturers. ‘1834’ in the name of the company is the year when the Dolcs family built a house made of stone and a wine cellar. Winemaking skills were handed down from one generation to another and nowadays a family of Kastelic, the offsprings of the Dolcs, makes excellent and predicate Dolc branded red and white wine – Modra Frankinya (Blaufr?nkisch), Sauvignon, Shardonnay, Lashki risling (Welschriesling), Pinot Gris and others. In addition to dry wines Dolc is also famous for its excellent predicate wines – Sp?tlese (Late Vintage), Auslese (Wine of Quality), Beerenauslese (Selected Berries), Trockenbeerenauslese (Dried Selected Berries) and Eiswein (Ice Wine).
