Early in November, six major international exhibitions were successfully held in Almaty: food industry - WorldFood Kazakhstan 2017, agriculture - AgroWorld Kazakhstan 2017, packaging - KazUpack Kazakhstan 2017, as well as "Hotels, restaurants, supermarkets goods" - HOREX Kazakhstan 2017, "Cold Storage, Transportation and Service for Cold Logistics" - ColdChain Kazakhstan 2017 and "Cleaners and Detergents, Dry Cleaning and Laundry Equipment and Cleaning Equipment" - CleanExpo Kazakhstan 2017.
Opening ceremony was attended by: Aidyn Kerimbek, Head of Department for Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine of Almaty; Anuar Chuzhegulov, Director of Department for Development and Export Promotion of Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Igor Kamynin, Head of Representative Office of JSC "Russian Export Center" in Kazakhstan; Vincent Brain, Regional Director of ITE Group; as well as representatives of diplomatic missions of participating countries in exhibition.
Guests also took part in opening of Russian Export Center (REC). The head of REC, Igor Kamynin, said that Kazakhstan is the most important trade partner of Russian Federation with respect to non-resource and non-energy goods.
"The second largest area of our cooperation is consumer goods, food products, which are represented in large quantities at this exhibition. We want to develop, of course, and this year trade turnover between two countries can grow up to about 30%", - Igor Kamynin said.
On the part of Russia, as an important trade and economic partner, interest in food market of Republic of Kazakhstan increases every year. For the first time in 2017, Russia's exposition is represented not only by individual stands of Russian suppliers of food products and drinks, equipment and ingredients, but also by unprecedented number of stands of federal and regional export organizations. In addition to Russian Export Center separate expositions were Export Support Funds: Altai Territory, Volgograd, Kirov, Smolensk Regions, Stavropol Territory.
For Russian participants, within the framework of exhibition business program, there was a seminar organized by Representative Office of JSC "Russian Export Center" and Trade Representation of Russian Federation in Republic of Kazakhstan.
Igor Kamynin, spoke about work specifics with retail and wholesale customers in Kazakhstan, current dynamics of trade turnover between countries.
Trade representative of Russian Federation in Kazakhstan, Alexander Yakovlev, touched upon the topic of joint ventures and cooperation projects, and also talked about key directions of development in economy of two countries.
At the stand of Russian Export Center, a number of planned business meetings also took place, during which a live dialogue was held between producers of Russian products and representatives of Kazakhstan wholesale and retail trade networks, manufacturing companies, as well as processors, distributors, traders and other companies interested in products from Russia.
Participation of Russian manufacturers in WorldFoodKazakhstan 2017 allowed demonstrating modern image and competitiveness of Russian non-resource exports not only for Kazakhstan but also for international companies. This year more than 400 companies from 31 countries took part in the event.
This year exposition of companies from South Korea and India also expanded. For example, Indian potential of trade partnership will be represented by 33 companies exporting tea, spices, groceries, packaging, including Tea house of India and Chamber of Spice Suppliers of India.
For most exhibitors of WorldFoodKazakhstan, purchasing specialists of retail trade network making decision on delivery of various products to the shelves of domestic stores are of special interest. For several years now, Retail Center has been operating to increase efficiency of business contacts between exhibitors and visitors of this category on WorldFoodKazakhstan site where representatives of suppliers will be able to conduct direct negotiations with representatives of trade networks and get working conditions with a particular network. In 2017 representatives of retail networks of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan took part in the work of Retail Center for the first time.
According to statistics, this year the exhibition was visited by about 5 thousand specialists from 37 countries
The event was traditionally attended by a delegation of professionals from Kyrgyzstan. This year, the buyers' program was attended by representatives of food industry from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan for the first time.
In addition to expanded exposition, the event presented a rich business program, within the framework of which there were seminars from participant companies were held, master classes from professionals and official meeting regarding fruit and vegetable business in Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of WorldFoodKazakhstan exhibition, annual independent tasting competition "Best Product" was traditionally held in accordance with general quality and safety requirements for food products in the territory of Republic of Kazakhstan. Tasting competition selected the best products, and awarded them with awards - gold medals of quality "Best Product of WorldFoodKazakhstan 2017".
